NOT all is bad when diagnosed with cancer.

I know that the previous statement may be shocking, but it is the truth, although sometimes it is difficult to see it.

Being diagnosed with cancer gives you the opportunity to meet many wonderful people, that a stranger tells you not to worry, that God will heal you, that they tell you to grab God hand, that they will pray for you. It gives you the opportunity to see the good in people, not only that it changes your perspective, it helps you to see what is really important, see things with another brightness. You encounter people you do not know but they care about you. That you can have an oncologist with a huge Faith, I got that doctor. A doctor who you can see that she loves what she does, that she does it with Faith, which is not something I expected in a profession of science. In my last CT scan, that oncologist read the results, explains the change, since the masses are even smaller (I have not received any further treatment), and got up, hugged me and said that she thanked God for allowing her to be part of my miracle. The miracle of being alive, words without saying. Because at least my case was nobody told me how bad I look, how bad I was, only now that they see me well, with color and hair is that tell me how bad it was. I cross paths with the nurse who received me at my first hospitalization and she told me that they thought you were going.Wow, they thought that I was going to die, so badly I looked, but God let me live, with all my faults and sins,  He let me keep breathing and fighting. God uses us as examples of his greatness, the pneumologist of the hospital told me on one occasion that he saw my chest x-ray and that there were a few pieces of lungs in giant masses. The truth, that the first time I really broke, I remember sitting on the hospital bed crying non-stop, and my husband's face worried and angry at the same time. But now, being able to look myself in the mirror and say "God let you live, left you here, and was not in vain, He leave you because you have a purpose that you need to fulfill." Knowing that this doctor knows I'm still here and that I'm fine, it's wonderful, that he can see the power of God ... it's priceless.

From so many people in the world suffer from this disease and God saw me, with my gigantic masses and decided that it was not my time, that He needed me to be here. Those of us who survive cancer have this blessing and not everyone has it. The feeling that God chose you to heal you and to set an example of His power, that feeling is one that fills me with joy and love. Feeling that I would not have felt if I hadn't not got sick. The one who says that science healed me and not God, I'm sorry but I have to differ. Science can say what it want, but the treatments can fail, I could not get an appointment in time, I could have a reaction to transfusions, to chemo, there are so many things that can go wrong, but it was not like that. And you know why? Because God wanted to. He put His hand so everything would happen in His perfect time, and put in my way perfect or imperfect people who needed to see his miracle.

For all this and more I insist that everything is not bad. Thanks to this I have a second chance, an opportunity to see things differently. To say that I will be happy, that God puts us on Earth to be happy and I am going to do it. Do you dare?

Bucket list

Translation:

Reviving this past months is not necessarily easy. People said that remember is to live, and in my case remember is strength to keep fighting.

Yes, I remember how it all started, the concern of my family, the unconditional support and strength of my husband. I honestly do not remember much of my entrance to the hospital, for the first time, besides fear. But I guess I did not look very good. I say this because now that I have more confidence with the nurses (they are the same in every hospitalisation) and that they see me better, that said what they thought of me: "we thought you were going to leave us". I can not explain what I felt to hear that, but I tried to stay calm, but it gives you a lot to think.

Then when you are alone, those words come back to you as a blow, and the reality is that you can't help it. You think about many things, me in my daughter, in all that would be lost to me. She would not miss me, not even remember me, but would have to grow up without a mother, and I imagine that will not be easy. I thought about what my husband would had face raising our daughter alone. Inevitably you also think about all the things you've always wanted to do but never do.

As everything has a good side, because of this I started writing my "bucket list". And I intend to do it, it has many things I want to do, like zip line, but also things to do with my husband and daughter, like take her to Disney.

Of this I want that all of you who read me, take out the time to create your bucket list of what you want to do in your life, but put things you really want to do. Also include things to do with the one you love. The reality is that those memories will be the best ones, no matter how simpler they are.

NEVER STOP DREAMING

Translation:

I know it has been a while without sharing anything with you, and I apologise and promises to keep the blog more up to date.

It has been almost a month since I took my last chemotherapy, and it can be literally the last one. Now I have to take a Petscan (a study to see if I still have cancer), to know what it is going to happen with my health. This may indicate several alternatives: that I need more chemo, that I have no cancer cells in my lungs but if it still in my uterus I will need a surgery, or that I am clean. This wait it drives me crazy, my future depends on the outcome of this study, my life depends n its outcome. I try to stay positive, that I will not need anything else, but at the same time I try not to let my hopes go too high. I trust my God, but still gives me a litter scare.I could get back to my normal life (but really what is normal?), I could go from cancer patient to cancer survivor.

For now I just try to focus on spending time with my family. They, my husband and daughter, are my strength to stay positive and focused. Being able to spend time with them, have new experiences, such as the possibility to take my litter girl to the beach for the first time. I can't explain how wonderful it was, her excitement was obvious. Nothing is greater than to have new experiences with her, to build memories with her.  That's what I try to do with my days until the study. And what I will continue doing for a month, until my next appointment with the oncologist.

Being with my family and my faith that god is with me and that He will never leave me, are my rock. In these situations you have to find on what to focus, find what give us strength. We have to remember what is important, what fill us, what make us happy. For me is to get that litter smile in the photos.     T

Translation:

Every situation that we think is the worst, have a good thing. Within my illness I discovered something that I thought was lost, humanity, yes a lot of good people, people willing to help without knowing you.

Right now, as I indicated in my first post, I'm out of job, also my husband is because he is the one who takes care of me, take me to the appointments, and stay with me during the hospitalisations. So we depend almost entirely on the goodwill of strangers. And the amazing thing is that so far neither me nor my family have gone through needs.

A former co-worker opened a fund account for me (www.gofundme.com/skmk825b), a friend of my mother organised a softball tournament, a friend organised a bazar. All of this without me asking anything from them, and doing averting on their own. They took their time, time off from work, from their families, just to help me.There are good people.

People have helped me without knowing me, every day I see the great heart of people. I never thought that there will be so many good people out there willing to help a stranger, to give what they have. God is great and does nor abandon His children, thats what I think every time a pay the hospital or my house with the help of a stranger.

Do not lose faith in humanity, in the people around you, but most important do not lose faith in God, He never abandons us, let alone in difficult situations, He always provides and protect us.

Bendecida

Translation:

Blessed

YES, blessed. Despite the situation I'm going through, I feel blessed with the family I have. Blessed thad God allowed the choriocarcinoma to be discover in time and to treat it. Because  have a wonderful husband who does not let me and loves me and cares for me with all his strength. I know our marriage and love will emerge strengthened from this situation.

Cancer has given me time, time to think, to be with my daughter. Yeah right, I lose a week with her whenever I'm hospitalised for treatment, but I have three full weeks to share with her and my husband.Which I wound't be able to do if working full time. I feel I should be grateful for the opportunity to share with my family and to take the tome to smell the flowers. We tent to loose focus n the important because of work and the stress of daily life.

If I hope to get something from this experience is to be grateful, remembering whats important, my family. We must always find a reason to laugh no matter the situation, there is always a reason. Sometimes it is just a littler harder to find because we lose focus and only see al the bad things. There is always someone who have it worse than us and have the ability to find a reason lo laugh.

I know that God blesses me and cares fro me, that miracles exist, because I have seen them. Not many people know, but my child is a miracle, according to doctors. Maybe a next time I will explain why.

But again in every situation there is an important lesson to find, a character that is being reformed, and a Faith that is tested.

Just a necessary process...

I'm currently receiving a combination of 4 chemotherapies, two of which have the side effect of hair loss. I try not to focus on that, because the most important thing is to improve my health, but as a woman my hair was always important to me. I always had it long and was very proud of how it looked.

After the first chemo it began to fall, whit the second one the fall increase drastically so I decided to cut it, to try to get used to it not being long. The new hair style only lasted two weeks, since the fall was so great, there was so much hair everywhere and I was tired of getting hair on my baby, that I decided something more extreme. So I told my husband to buy me a machine to cut it. I was determined to use it but spend more than 10 minutes looking in the bathroom mirror, Looking for the courage to say goodbye to all my hair, which all my life I had considered my best attribute. It was a difficult decision, and for several days I wore a hat all the time, I didn't want my husband to see me without hair. Mentally it was a difficult process but slowly I'm beating it. I can go out with something covering my head but in my house with my family I can be more comfortable.

Women who read me, it's just a process that has to happened to improve and be healthy, to being able to be with the persons you love and that love you. It's a battle to understand that we are not pretty hair, we are a person with feelings and that we are fighting for our LIVE.
